I started college at UCLA as a “pre-med” major in 1969 but dropped out to pursue a career as a recording artist. I got experience performing before an audience, a skill that drives my success as a litigator. After my band broke up, I decided to become an attorney to keep young musicians from making the same mistakes I made. Completing my college education with a BA in Economics from California State University Northridge in 1975 (cum laude), I worked my way through Loyola Law School, graduated in 1978, passed the California bar exam on my first try and have been licensed to practice law in California ever since.
Openings at entertainment law firms were scarce so I began my legal career monitoring litigation for a large corporation. After two years, I grew tired of a desk job and wanted more interaction with people. I was hired by a prestigious boutique firm defending doctors and hospitals and learned about medicine and the ins and outs of malpractice cases. However, after five years, I became disillusioned defending people I thought were negligent, so I
switched sides and began working for malpractice victims and their families. In 2005, I opened my own practice, now based in Calabasas. Having worked “both sides of the fence”, I approach my cases with a unique perspective. Many of my cases are referred to me by other attorneys, including defense lawyers. I am detail-oriented and choose my cases carefully. I am a detective when I review medical records and my philosophy is that the truth lies somewhere between what my clients tell me and what the medical records reflect.

I never file a malpractice case without the support of well qualified, credible expert witnesses no matter how much I think I know about the medicine involved. Many experts I
work with today were against me as defense experts in the past. My expert’s opinions guide the work I do and 95% of my cases are favorably resolved. I pursue my cases aggressively.
I am a proud member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of California (CAALA), have submitted legal articles for publication it its journal, regularly attend it’s annual seminar to stay fresh oilchanges in the law and am a member of a the Medical Malpractice Roundtable exchanging ideas with other top notch malpractice lawyers on legal issues, and sharing information about mediators, arbitrators, Judges , and expert witnesses.
Although I have handled just about every kind of malpractice case imaginable, I still encounter new and different case scenarios. I am ready to hear about your case!
